This Catholic chapel of St. Anthony Eremita in the upper "Burgschaft" may have been founded together with the Antoniusspital in 1304.
The chapel was rebuilt and extended in late Gothic times (1494) and in the Baroque period. The late Gothic statue of St. Anthony from the second half of the 15th century stands in a baroque altar shrine. In the earthquake of 1851, the front tower above the entrance façade collapsed. It was rebuilt in neo-Gothic style five years later. The church bell in the tower bears the date 1396 and the keystone of a vault the date 1494. The chapel served as a historical meeting place for the Zenden and the Landrat. At the end of the 20th century, the chapel underwent a total renovation. The chapel played an important role in the religious customs of the year: every year on 14 January, the feast of St. Anthony Eremita, who was venerated as a peasant saint, a solemn blessing of the horses took place in front of the church.
